Incredible architecture and artifacts all around you, huge courtyards and designs engraved on the walls. I went to China for the first time, this is my impression of Beijing. I took a trip to Beijing to visit my cousin who is living in China! We had a layover which allowed us to travel and spend one day in Beijing. As we did not have long in China, our itinerary was simple. For this China travel adventure we chose to see Qianmen Street, Dashilar (Dashilan) street, a market selling Chinese street food and products, and the Forbidden City. For breakfast we went to Qing-Feng Steamed Dumpling Shop to try Chinese porridge and baozi. I also tried tanghulu, a sweet that originates from Northern China. At the market we tried Chinese sugar blowing candy (sugar people use liquid sugar to create figures). Later in the day we visited a shopping mall in Beijing for vegan hot pot. I have been living in Tokyo, Japan for two years. I regularly post day in the life of a foreigner living in Japan vlogs. Even though I live in Tokyo, I had the opportunity to travel to both Northern and Southern Japan and I hope to give you some useful tips, and recommend places to visit on your next trip to Japan! Beijing Beef - Better than takeout Crispy beef that is tossed in sweet and tangy sauce. Perfect if you want to save some money from take out dishes. Ingredients: Marinate the beef * 350g of beef * 1 tsp of chicken powder * 1 tsp of Yum Yum * 1/2 tsp of salt * 1/2 tsp of sugar * 1/2 tsp baking powder * 1/2 tsp of five spice powder * A pinch of white pepper * 1 tbs Cooking Oil Sweet and sour sauce * 1 tbsp of Tomato sauce * 1 tsp of Worcestershire sauce * 1 tbsp of rice wine vinegar * 2 tbsp of sugar * 2 tbsp of water * A pinch of red powder * A pinch of salt Beijing Sauce * 1 bell pepper, dice into small squares * 1 brown onion, dice into small cubes * 2 tbsp of vegetable oil, for stir frying * 1 tbsp of pineapple juice * 1 tbsp of hoisin sauce * 2 tbs Sweet & Sour sauce * Lil bit of Yum Yum Instructions: 1. Sliced your steak into strips and marinate with everything above. Set aside for 20 minutes. 2. Combine the sweet and sour sauce in a bowl. Set aside. 3. Coat the marinated beef in the corn starch. Make sure each beef slices are completely coated. 4. Heat the oil to 180-190 degrees c. Fry the beef for 3-5 minutes or until the beef is crispy. Remove, strain it and set aside. 5. In the same wok/pan, heat the oil to medium heat. 6. Next, add the sweet and sour sauce, hoisin sauce, sweet chilli and pineapple juice. Give it a good mix. 7. Add the bell pepper and brown onion. Cook until sauce is bubbling. 8. Add the fried beef to the sauce and give it a final toss until it is evenly coated. 9.
